Villa Mascio is an antique, noble mansion built between the 18th and the 19th century.
After the reunification of italy in 1870 it was object of various robberys carried out by the brigands of the renowned 'Fuoco’s gang'
Today it is a graceful residence, surrounded by green hills, situated by the foot of the “mainarde mountains, in the National Park of Abbruzzo, Lazio and Molise. It has maintained it’s antique structure with vaults, archways and walls in naked stone.
The mansion disposes of 6 large, bright rooms, each with own bathroom, heating and SKY TV, One is equipped for disabled guests. |

The rooms are all simple but elegantly furnished.
There is also a patio, a terrace for sunbathing, reading-room, internet, mountain-bike rental, bar, restaurant, wine-collection, Tourist-information and our exposition of handmade and local product. Breakfast is based on natural, local product, like fruit juice, jams and marmelades, cheese and ham, homemade cakes, all supplied by local farmers. Everyday we serve lunch and dinner à la carte or a typical menu of the day.
As entertainment we organize live-music, cabaret, workshops and filmprojections. Nearby there is a golf course, horseback riding and possibilities to swim in mountain lakes. The stay at Il Rifugio del Brigante is a good occasion to get to know a territory that offers medieval villages, castles, archeological sites, forest, mountains, lakes, tracks, traditional manifestations and natural products. |
